As part of my current digital library course I’ve developed a series of modules talking about LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) and different open source packages. I’ve made the audio portion available on my podcast. Now you can see the full thing:

I’ve uploaded a new Podcast. This one is is the audio portion of a LAMP Overview I did for my digital library class. I will be following this up with introductions to Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.

My Syllabus for IST 759 is available in WebCT for those registered for the course. THe course itself is still being set up before the Jan 17th start date. So don’t be concerned if things are moving or incomplete at this point.

For the other readers of my blog, I plan on making some of the class freely available, most notably a series of modules on LAMP (linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). Stay tuned.

Sorry for the silence, but I am in the middle of IST 759, the capstone course for SU’s Certificate of Advanced Studies in Digital libraries. It is turning out to be a great class. 8 students hanging out in a lab working on PHP code all day…at least it is fun for me.

I’m looking forward to this class. I only have 8 students registered, but have invited some other colleagues and local librarians to come and play too.

I’m envisioning a week of playing with digital library open source software.
